The Savannah Convention Center successfully hosted Georgia Southern University’s winter graduation in a socially distanced and responsible setting this week, with an assist from the Visit Savannah team on set-up and breakdown! The exhibit hall was set for 400+ graduates, all placed six feet apart while audience seats were set in groups of 4 with proper distance between to accommodate the 1,200+ family and friends in attendance. This comes one week after the Savannah Convention Center hosted the National Agricultural Aviation Association and their 750+ person convention, the Savannah Area Chamber’s 300 person Eggs & Issues breakfast, and even a circus last week! Following proper COVID-19 protocols and attendees in 100 percent mask compliance, the Savannah Convention Center has shown that hosting events can be done.
