VIC-to-Tybee Island Shuttle Returns Monday-Saturday

Great news! The Tybee Island Shuttle is back. The service is operated by Coastal Regional Commission and will leave from the Main Visitor Center parking lot at 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The staff at the Visitor Information Centers feels that there are a few things that everyone needs to know:

  • It’s a small 10-person vehicle. Service is provided on a first come/first serve basis.
  • The fare is $10 each way; riders will need exact change
  • There are two stops: The lighthouse at North Beach and Tybrisa Circle
  • Parents must provide car seats for their children
  • No pets are allowed

Here’s the Monday through Saturday schedule (there is no service on Sunday).

  • 8:00 a.m. (returning at 8:30 a.m.)
  • 1:00 p.m. (returning at 1:30 p.m.)
  • 6:00 p.m. (returning at 6:30 p.m.)

Coastal Regional urges riders to be ON TIME for the return ride back to Savannah. The vehicle won’t wait for stragglers (and cab fare from Tybee can be pricey!).

Finally, the Tybee shuttle will generally operate on a pretty tight and precise schedule. But, we all know that on a busy summer weekend, travel to and from Tybee can be an adventure. Accidents or flooding or who knows, can really snarl traffic, so patience is advised.
