On Thursday, December 9, the Savannah Business Community will honor community champion Robert H. Demere, Jr. for his legacy of philanthropy and leadership with the prestigious Oglethorpe Award. This award is named for General James Edward Oglethorpe, a humanitarian, leader, and visionary who led 120 colonists in founding Savannah and the colony of Georgia in 1733, for their legacy of philanthropy and leadership. The event will be held from noon – 1:30 p.m. at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa.
In addition to the Oglethorpe Award presentations, business organizations such as the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce, Buy Local Savannnah, Downtown Business Association, the Metropolitan Savannah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Savannah Economic Development Authority, Tourism Leadership Council, and Visit Savannah will present business updates and the 2022 business outlook for Savannah and the surrounding counties.
