MLK Visitor Center Gets Letterboxing

The MLK Visitor Center now has letterboxing, and Mava Byrd, director of the Savannah Information Centers, showed the staff at the January staff meeting. Letterboxing is similar to a scavenger hunt. Letterboxers hide small boxes in public places and distribute clues to finding the box. Individual letter boxes contain a notebook and a rubber stamp. Finders make an imprint of the letterbox’s stamp in their personal notebook and leave an impression of their personal stamp on the ltterbox’s vistors’ book or logbook as proof of having found the box. Many letterboxers keep careful track of their find count.
