Ribbon Cutting for the new Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center and “Save Spectacular” celebration of the 50th anniversary milestone for national marine sanctuaries.

Community leaders, representatives from the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation will be celebrating the 50^th anniversary of national marine sanctuaries and NOAA’s new Ocean Discovery Center in Savannah. The Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center is anticipated to open to the public in early 2023 and will offer free programs, activities, and opportunities for local residents and visitors to get involved with Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary and the local Chapter of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. The Ribbon Cutting Dedication ceremony will be followed by a ticketed reception for members of the Gray’s Reef Foundation Chapter, and a public open house is scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday the following week (October 19-22).”
