Ribbon Cutting for Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center

Ribbon Cutting for the new Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center and “Save Spectacular” celebration of the 50th anniversary milestone for national marine sanctuaries. Community leaders, representatives from the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of national marine sanctuaries and NOAA’s new Ocean Discovery Center in Savannah. The Gray’s Reef Ocean Discovery Center is anticipated to open to the public in early 2023 and will offer free programs, activities, and opportunities for local residents and visitors to get involved with Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary and the local Chapter of the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. The Ribbon Cutting Dedication ceremony will be followed by a ticketed reception for members of the Gray’s Reef Foundation Chapter, and a public open house is scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday the following week (October 19-22).”

Ribbon Cutting for Java Burrito Company

Local, family-owned and operated, JAVA Burrito Company partners Frederika and Mike Fekete celebrated the launch of their Historic Downtown Savannah location with an official Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening!
Guests visited 420 E. Broughton Street to enjoy this “Taco Tuesday” celebration on Tuesday, August 30, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Light appetizers fresh from the kitchen, live music, door prizes, and enjoy refreshing cocktails were all provided on the house!
The JBC team also showcased a local nonprofit, Shelter from the Rain. This organization exists to create a community of support and enrich the lives of single mothers in need and their children. Attendees were encouraged to contribute by donating a package of unopened baby diapers or container of formula, to be donated to single mothers in need in our community. Shelter from the Rain left the ribbon cutting with loads of diapers and products as well as monetary donations for the organization.
