Early Voting Starts Today. Vote Yes for TSPLOST

TSPLOST is a Transportation SPLOST that allocates up to a 1% sales tax, and the capital outlays must be used for ‘Transportation purposes’ only in Chatham County. The Chatham County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution at their meeting on July 29, 2022, authorizing the levy and collection of TSPLOST funds upon approval by referendum in the November 8, 2022, general election.

The County and Cities have negotiated a division of the TSPLOST revenue to be collected if the majority of votes in the general election favor imposing the TSPLOST. If approved, the TSPLOST collections will begin on April 1, 2023, and continue for five years.

The amount of money to be collected by the TSPLOST is estimated to be $420,000,000 over the next five years. For a list of transportation projects slated for improvement, click here.
