This past Saturday, Visit Savannah hosted a multi-sensory pop-up event in the Meatpacking District to surprise and delight the residents of New York City. The experience, entitled “Surprisingly Savannah,” transported guests on a relaxing, unexpected and refreshing journey to the destination. While enjoying Southern drinks and bites, guests discovered feed-worthy photo experiences, listened to live music, shucked oysters, contributed to an interactive wall, and took home a personalized gift.
The event saw over 3,500 attendees, including Mayor Van Johnson and members of the New York media. The event featured the work of multiple Savannah-based businesses. Visit Savannah staff wore wearable artwork by Tiffani Taylor Art Gallery, brand ambassadors wore apparel from Morgan Rae Boutique, guests enjoyed pralines from Savannah Candy Kitchen and took home bags of coffee from Savannah Coffee Roasters as well as personalized leather luggage tags by satchel. In addition to the swag, attendees and passerbys enjoyed the vocal stylings of Savannah-based musician Clara Waidley.
Visit Savannah would like to thank many of our local entrepreneurs and businesses who partnered with us to make this event the success that it was, including Jetblue, SEDA, and the Savannah/Hilton International Airport.
