Legislative Update

Last week, legislators met for day nine of the legislative session and worked through Thursday, February 2, when the Georgia House passed House Bill 18, the Fiscal Year 2023 Amended Budget. This year’s amended budget increases spending by over 7% of what was initially appropriated during the last session. The revised spending plan includes $1 billion worth of property tax grants to Georgia homeowners, $1 billion in income tax rebates, and increased funding for road building and school safety grants. House Bill 18 now awaits further action by the Senate Appropriations Committee.
