Beach High Community Health Screening Clinic Seeking Volunteers

St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System has partnered with the Savannah Chatham County Public School System to open a community health clinic in a neighborhood with limited or no access to healthcare. The goal is to bring quality healthcare and workforce development to the community.

Students studying phlebotomy at Beach High School must perform 30 successful blood draws to complete the certification process. The school system is seeking volunteers to serve as patients. All collections will include a free full-panel screen, and test results will be shared with the patient and in-network primary care physician at St. Joseph’s/Candler

This week as Leadership Savannah visited the clinic, two class members hopped into the chair to volunteer. Andrea Pretorius, Assistant County Attorney for Chatham County, volunteered both arms!  Please visit this link to sign up. The partnership has been a great benefit to all and is a shining example of innovative approaches to public health and education.
