Last week, Leadership Savannah’s 2023 Class explored the City of Atlanta and the City of Peachtree Corners. The class listened to presentations from government leaders during their visit, including Georgia DOT Commissioner Russell McMurry, Policy Director for the Mayor of Atlanta, Chanel Zeisel, and Savannah City Manager Jay Melder. Community leaders shared insights on critical topics like affordable housing in their cities.

The class also got an opportunity to tour Peachtree Corners’ Curiosity Lab. Peachtree Corners’ City Manager Brian Johnson talked to the class about the city’s history since its creation in 2010 and how autonomous buses and cars are used for transportation around town. The trip ended with fun at the Atlanta Braves game!
