Last week, Jared Downs of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce met with U.S. Congressman Dr. Rich McCormick and Pete Hoffman, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Pooler. The meeting focused on essential military affairs in Savannah and the Coastal Region.
Congressman McCormick, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, led discussions on safeguarding the Air National Guard’s Combat Readiness Training Center along with the allocation of funds for new hangars at Hunter Army Airfield, enhancing housing at Fort Stewart and working to ensure the safety and well-being of our military community. Chris Payne, the Chamber’s Military Affairs Consultant in Washington, D.C., also attended the meeting.
Downs said that the Chamber is committed to supporting the military community in Savannah and is grateful for Congressman McCormick’s leadership on these crucial issues.
