CAT’s Savannah Belles Ferry System Will See Fleet Upgrades in Q2 2024
New ferry boats are currently under construction in New York and are expected to be delivered to Chatham Area Transit (CAT) by the second quarter of next year. Chatham Area Transit (CAT) ‘s Executive Director Faye DiMassimo, Visit Savannah President Joseph Marinelli, and others will visit the plant in November to see the assembly site and get a progress update.
The Savannah Belles Ferry system provides free passage across the Savannah River between downtown’s waterfront and Hutchinson Island. The upgraded ferry system will be vital as the Visit Savannah team works to book larger meetings and conventions business in the expanded Savannah Convention Center scheduled to open in Q1 2024.
