For their final programmed event, Leadership Savannah visited Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield for a tour of the installation and an incredible ride in a CH-47 Chinook. The flight offered a bird’s eye view of Ft. Stewart’s training areas, the new HMGMA Metaplant, Georgia Ports Authority, Downtown Savannah, and Tybee Island.

The class visited several displays and demonstrations including a rifle simulation, K9 obedience display, and Warriors Walk. Over lunch at the new Warrior Restaurant, the class learned about recruiting efforts and how our community can encourage young adults to consider joining the military. Overall, the day provided a better understanding of military missions, lifestyle, equipment, and base operations.
