The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) State Supported Funding Program (SSFP) is set to host a collaborative outreach event with the City of Savannah Economic Development Department at The Savannah Entrepreneurial Center. This is a unique in-person opportunity for small business owners keen on engaging with the Agency. Designed to cater to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), Small Business Enterprises (SBEs), and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs), the event aims to provide valuable insights into eligibility criteria for bidding on projects funded by H.B. 170.
Attendees will also learn how to identify and respond to routine maintenance projects through the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS). Noteworthy speakers at the event include Georgia DOT District 5 EEO Officer John Marek, Assistant District Maintenance Manager Mark Shuman, and Contracts Manager Brandon Harris, who will share insights into upcoming projects in the area. Furthermore, participants will benefit from expert advice on insurance, bonding, and accessing capital. This event serves as an exceptional opportunity for DBEs, small business owners, and veteran-owned small businesses to position themselves as qualified contractors with the State while familiarizing themselves with the supportive services offered by the Georgia DOT Supportive Service staff.
