Montreal-style bagel establishment Spread Bagelry has opened its first Georgia location in downtown Savannah and will host a ribbon cutting ceremony in celebration on Tuesday, January 30 at 10 a.m. at 6 W. State St. This signifies the second Southeast location for the Philadelphia-based brand, joining its Mount Pleasant, SC location and Charleston, SC location.

Founded in Philadelphia in 2010, Spread Bagelry has established 12 locations in Pennsylvania, one in New Jersey, one in Georgia, and two in South Carolina. The brand takes pride in the idea that each Spread Bagelry is unique, mirroring the individuality of their bagels. By definition, a Montreal-style bagel is distinctly boiled in honey water and baked in a wood-fire oven. In comparison to what we know as New York-style bagels, Montreal-style bagels have a golden-brown crust and are sweeter and chewier.
