GSC Logistics opens operations in Savannah
GSC, a nationwide 3PL, today announced new operations on the East Coast, extending its national footprint. GSC is amongst the largest 3PLs in Northern California providing drayage and transload services. Through the recent acquisition of MacMillan-Piper, GSC became one of the largest 3PLs in the Pacific Northwest, with drayage and transload services to both the Seattle and Tacoma ports.
GSC has been operating in Northern California for over 35 years and in the Pacific Northwest for more than a decade, adding 55 years of experience with the recent acquisition of MacMillan Piper. The company will replicate the success and strategies leveraged in the Oakland and PNW gateways to break into the Savannah market. Based on extensive planning and investment from the local Savannah and Georgia government entities and port authority in the economic development of the Port and the surrounding area, Savannah is well positioned for long-term growth for importers and exporters alike.

Migrant Equity Southeast Cuts Ribbon
As the first and only immigrant-led nonprofit of its kind in South Georgia, the team at Migrant Equity Southeast hosted their Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting at their new Main office on Thursday, January 25, 2024, 5–7 p.m. Guests were treated to delicious hors d’oeuvres and tours of the new facility. Migrant Equity Southeast is committed to advocating for immigrant rights and engaging in mutual aid, education and outreach with the migrant and refugee communities of South Georgia. Their services include food assistance, rent assistance, English classes, healthcare assistance, free legal clinics, and more.
Veteran Carriers showcases expansion!
Congratulations to Veteran Carriers on the expansion of their beautiful facility on January 25. Close to a hundred people gathered to see the new facility, located at 20 Telfair Place, Savannah, and enjoy lunch. Cliff White welcomed guests and gave tours to distinguished guests such as US Representative Buddy Carter. Veterans Carriers, who currently owns around 150 trucks, is a veteran operated company and a division of the ARL Network serving the Southeast with the capacity to serve the lower 48 states for intermodal needs.
Spread Bagelry opens first Georgia location.
Spread Bagelry, a Montreal-style bagel establishment, noted the opening of its downtown location at 6 W. State St. with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, January 30. Guests were in awe of the delicious bagels and spreads that are a staple for the brand in Savannah. A large gathering of Ambassadors joined the store manager, Tara Pellegrino during the festivities to welcome her and the brand to the organization and community. Spread Bagelry Bagels are boiled in honey water and baked in a wood-fire oven, which produces a sweeter, chewier, golden-brown crusted bagel.
