This past Monday, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger for a briefing on election security in the November 2024 election. The meeting took place following an election systems health check conducted by the Chatham County Board of Elections, where Raffensperger was on-site to review.
As part of a state-wide initiative, election systems health checks will be conducted in each of Georgia’s 159 counties ahead of the presidential election on November 5. This proactive measure was instituted by Secretary Raffensperger to ensure the integrity and reliability of the election process in our state.
Following the Chatham County health check, Raffensperger addressed Chamber members and staff at the Chamber’s offices. During the briefing, he outlined his office’s efforts to boost confidence in Georgia’s election systems, emphasizing the importance of security measures and the role of poll workers in maintaining election integrity. The Secretary highlighted the challenges posed by the upcoming election and detailed the steps to minimize potential threats.
