The Y Bar Savannah Opens in Downtown

Baked Bear Savannah Draws Crowds on Opening Weekend
Baked Bear, the custom ice cream sandwich shop, celebrated its grand opening in downtown Savannah on Saturday, July 20th. Owners Kimberly and Grant Wilson welcomed hundreds of eager customers who lined up on Broughton Street to try the brand’s signature treats. The Wilsons expressed gratitude for the strong turnout, signaling a promising future in the historic district. Clearing House Savannah Celebrates New Venue
On July 24th, Clearing House Savannah celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Houston Street location. Owners James and Jennefer Lough welcomed guests to explore the light-filled space, designed for events, workshops, and creative pursuits. Chamber President Bert Brantley, along with members, Visit Savannah staff, and community leaders, attended the celebration. The venue offers yoga, meditation, creative writing classes, and the popular Kindergarten Tour, highlighting the history of early childhood education and its ties to the Girl Scouts of America. Goodwill Southeast Georgia Celebrates Richmond Hill Store Reopening
Goodwill Southeast Georgia celebrated the grand reopening of its Richmond Hill store on July 25th with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by President and CEO Jason Marshall. The refreshed store now features the Bit of Blue Children’s Boutique and the organization’s sixth Opportunity Center, which offers free education, skills training, and employment services to the public. In 2024 alone, the Opportunity Centers have served over 1,600 individuals and placed more than 580 jobs. The Bit of Blue Children’s Boutique provides a curated selection of brand-name children’s clothing at great prices. Donations and purchases support local job placement and skills training programs. Wexford—Savannah’s Irish Pub will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 9th, at 11 AM, with special guests, friends, local Savannah dignitaries, and members of our Irish community. Join us after for lunch, a pint of perfectly poured Guinness, and live Irish music.
Savannah’s newest and most unique Irish pub was inspired by and named after County Wexford, Ireland, where more than half of Georgia’s Irish emigrants traveled here from in the mid-1800s during the potato famine. In fact, most of the interior was crafted and shipped over from Ireland and assembled in Savannah. In addition to the authenticity, the soul of the new pub is its culinary offerings and beverage menu. Delicious Irish meals accented by an eclectic beer and whiskey collection; live Irish music combined with sincere hospitality promise to make Wexford Pub a new jewel in the crown of Savannah’s most beloved restaurants. Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC)

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) of Atlanta will officially launch our second location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM at our new FODAC facility at 7220 Sallie Mood Dr., Savannah, GA. The Savannah location will partner with the Goodwill of Southeast Georgia and will enhance FODAC’s ability to collect gently used home medical equipment (HME). The HME items will be collected from the public at all 17 Goodwill retail stores around the coastal area, including wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and all types of mobility aids and assistive technology needed by people with injuries, illnesses or disabilities to remain independent and active in their communities. Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) of Atlanta, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities, is a nationally recognized leader in medical reuse equipment and the largest organization of its kind in the world.
