Chamber Hosts Meeting on Workforce Development

Following Savannah-Chatham Day in Atlanta, the Savannah Chamber and other community partners met with Georgia Deputy Workforce Commissioner Ben Hames and Federal Workforce Information Advisory Council member Jennifer Zeller of Georgia Power to discuss initiatives that can be more successfully implemented in our local area. The meeting was also attended by around 30 community stakeholders including leaders from the Savannah Chatham County Public School System, Atlanta Gas Light/Southern Company, Georgia Ports Authority and more.
The group gathered at the Georgia Power Experience Center to engage in conversation about workforce needs and issues impacting the Savannah region as well as targeted solutions for future development. Ensuring that our community is equipped with a competitive workforce continues to be a top priority for the Savannah Chamber.
