Last month, Kristyn Smith and Sarah Iocovozzi with the Savannah Sports Council and Dayna Mercer from the Savannah Convention Center attended the prestigious TEAMS (Travel, Events and Management in Sports) Conference in Anaheim, California. The conference is recognized as the world’s leading event for the sports event industry, drawing more than 1,000 attendees, including CEOs, executive directors, event managers from sports organizations, sports commissions, convention bureaus, corporate sponsors, and hospitality industry leaders.

The Savannah delegation was impactful at the conference, participating in around 40 one-on-one appointments with various groups nationwide. These meetings presented exciting future opportunities and events that could soon be coming to Savannah, further enhancing the city’s profile as a premier destination for sports and events.

The TEAMS Conference has played a critical role in shaping both the sports-event industry and the appointment-based trade show sector. It is a key platform for networking, business development, and showcasing Savannah as an ideal location for upcoming events.
