Project Hope Water is a collaborative effort between Chatham County and the City of Savannah to build and operate a mobile shower and sanitation facility, providing vital services to homeless individuals. The project is a shining example of what can be achieved when government, nonprofits, business, and community leaders work together to address pressing challenges.

Jennifer Davenport, Vice President of Community Affairs for the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, recently attended the Project Hope Water Showcase, an event celebrating a groundbreaking initiative to support those experiencing homelessness in our community. A mobile shower unit will move to strategic locations throughout the County, offering showers, washing machines, and critical social services to bridge the gap to shelter.

Jennifer Dulong, Executive Director of the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless, spearheaded the initiative, turning a bold vision into a practical solution that directly impacts lives. The event also brought together members of the Interagency Council on Homelessness, who celebrated the collective effort and commitment behind this essential service.

“This project reflects the power of collaboration and a shared dedication to creating a more inclusive and compassionate Savannah,” said Davenport. “It’s an honor to witness such impactful work in action.”

As the mobile facility begins operations, Project Hope Water will provide dignity and essential services to many in need, paving the way for further innovations in addressing homelessness in our community.
