Last week, Visit Savannah’s media relations team hosted UK freelance journalist Lindsay Sutton for a springtime visit to Savannah. Sutton and his wife Mo are working on a book about James Oglethorpe as well as material for some major news publications in the UK and Ireland. Upon arriving in town, they were welcomed to Savannah with a lunch spread at Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room, followed by a stroll through the squares on a sunlit day. Before leaving Mrs. Wilkes’, the Suttons left a pin on the map in their hometown of Manchester. During the same week, the marketing, communications and media relations team also hosted three other journalists working on various projects, and has plans to host nearly 30 more in the upcoming weeks.
