April Power Hour Discusses Issues of Workplace Harassment

The Chamber’s Small Business Council hosted its April 3 Power Hour lunch-and-learn at The Fairfield Inn & Suites Historic Savannah. This month’s speakers were Sarah Lamar and Shawn Kachmar of HunterMaclean Attorneys, discussing the topics of preventing sexual harassment in the workplace, as well as best practices for handling claims of sexual harassment in the wake of the #MeToo movement. How does this movement change the way employers should handle sexual harassment complaints? What are the recent trends for preventing harassment in the workplace? What are the best practices for correcting harassment and investigating claims when they occur? Skeeters Southern BBQ provided lunch for more than 70 members, who also took the opportunity to exchange business cards with other members.
Keep an eye on your Chamber Newsletter and the SavannahChamber.com business calendar for information on the next Power Hour and other upcoming networking opportunities.
