Summer 500 Programs Holds Closing Ceremony

City of Savannah Mayor Eddie DeLoach hosted the Graduation and Closing Ceremony for the third annual Summer 500 program last Friday, July 27 at the Savannah Civic Center.
More than 250 rising high school juniors and seniors completed the program which included a paid summer job and career skills training. Students were employed by more than 100 area businesses, who have collectively invested nearly $3 million dollars into the program since its inception in 2016.

The goal of the Summer 500 program is to help students gain hands-on work experience and develop life and career skills, ensuring students are fully equipped to succeed in an increasingly competitive job market and understand the vast array of career opportunities available in our area.

Programs like these are not possible without substantial community support and participation. Thank you to all who have stepped forward and invested in the future of Savannah’s workforce.
