Earlier this month, Director of PR Erica Backus, Director of Digital Marketing Lauren Cleland, and Communications Manager Summer Bozeman were invited to Birmingham to discuss Savannah and Tybee Island with the editorial staffs of Southern Living and Coastal Living magazines, at the publications’ first ever Travel Summit.
Although members of the communications staff make deskside visits with the editors of these publications annually, the Travel Summit served as a by-invitation-only opportunity to discuss needs and opportunities with the editor-in-chief and key members of the editorial staff as a whole. Topics of discussion included upcoming planned issues for the remainder of 2018 and 2019, and ways that Visit Savannah and Visit Tybee can facilitate inclusions in scheduled editorial.
