Join the Chamber’s Small Business Council at The Grand Lake Club at Southbridge for a lunch-and-learn and networking opportunity! The Chamber Power Hour takes place the second Tuesday of each month and features a guest speaker from the community presenting a topic relevant to small business owners and employees. In November, the Council welcomes Chuck Brown of Infinity, Inc., who will discuss cyber security for businesses.
According to SiteLock earlier this year, the average SMB website is attacked 44 times per day. And web attacks are only one way cyber criminals try to get into your network. “Phishing” emails are by far the most common method for installing malware or ransomware. Businesses need to know what to look out for and how to protect themselves and their customers.
Attendees will learn the red flags to look for in any email, especially the holiday-specific package delivery and special sales phishing attempts that increase as the holidays approach. They will also be able to get information about network protection programs with various options.
Lunch will be provided and is included in the registration cost. Make sure to bring plenty of business cards!
