It was a gray day for the Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run last Saturday, but that didn’t stop nearly 5,000 participants from showing up to tackle “the South’s toughest bridge run!”
The 28th annual Enmarket Savannah Bridge Run included 4,754 registered participants: 2,859 for the 5K, 1187 for the 10K and 708 for the Double Pump race. A big congratulations to 5K winner John Duberley, 10K winner Dillon Calhoun, and Double Pump winner Sam Berendsen!
New for this year, the Bridge Run’s Corporate Challenge encouraged companies to register as many employees as they could to promote wellness and team-building. Companies were organized into three divisions according to their total number of employees. Corporate Challenge winners were Vopak, Great Dane and Thomas & Hutton in the small, medium and large divisions, respectively.
After conquering the bridge, runners enjoyed warm and hearty Brunswick stew, beer and live music at the Michelob Ultra Post-Race Party from Jah Movement, a reggae band from Sarasota, Florida.
Registration will open this week for the 2019 race, slated for Saturday, December 7, 2019. Stay tuned!
The toy drive benefiting the families of the airmen of the Puerto Rican National Guard who perished in the plane crash earlier this year is still open, and will continue through December 12. Please take any donations to Fleet Feet Sports or Game Changers, and help provide the happiest holiday possible for these children.
