WHERE: SCORE Conference Room, 111 E. Liberty Street

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Your typical business day, regardless of whether you are in pre-startup, just open or already operating, is full of many ups and downs. Normal. Some are big, some are small, but one that is almost always big and often deep is The Law and it’s cousin, Taxes. Avoiding pitfalls in these two areas gives you more time to work ON your business rather than repairing damage IN your business. Our expert is a certified SCORE mentor and an attorney. Among the key items he will discuss are:
- Choosing the right business structure (entity).
- The tax consequences of selecting one type of structure over another.
- Buying vs. Leasing—both equipment and facilities.
- Should you hire employees or independent contractors?
- How can you be sure your hired contractor IS a contractor?
- The S-Corp. structure is not really going to save paying employment taxes
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Mark Golub has spent the last 30 years helping business owners design and build their businesses with emphasis on the best tax and legal efficiency—in full compliance with the law. He has advised clients ranging from entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies on acquiring and disposing of business ventures. Mark has been a resident of Savannah since 2015, and is a member of the Illinois bar.
