City of Savannah Seeks Business Participation in Summer 500 Intern Program

Last summer, our local business community showed great support for the city of Savannah’s student summer internship programs. Known as Summer 500, a more consolidated program will return this year and the city requests help from area businesses to provide hands-on summer work opportunities for high school students.
Employers are asked to offer students at least $8 per hour for a minimum of 32 hours per week, beginning with 4 hours of soft skill training each Monday. The remaining 28 working hours are flexible and may include weekends if necessary.

We appreciate the business community’s involvement in both Summer 500 and other student intern programs over the years. The Savannah Chamber believes this is an investment in our future workforce that could have an impact for years to come and we hope you will join us to help continue to ensure its success.
