With the retirement of longstanding Superintendent of Schools Dr. Thomas B. Lockamy, Jr. coming at the end of the 2016-17 school year, the Board of Education is conducting a national search for the purpose of filling the district’s top position. A variety of Savannah Area Chamber staff and board members met last week with members of Ray & Associates, the firm tasked with the nation-wide search, to discuss attributes important to the success of the next superintendent.
Selection of a superintendent is an important decision that will greatly impact the future of our community and the Savannah Area Chamber will remain engaged as the process continues.
