Main Visitor Center Promotes Member Businesses

The Savannah Repertory Theatre and Savannah’s Bed & Breakfast Inn are two Savannah Chamber members who have recently taken advantage of the opportunity to promote their businesses at Savannah’s main Visitor Center on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, and if you’re a hospitality member, so can you!
Vera and Pearl, two characters from Savannah Repertory Theatre’s production of “Greater Tuna” stopped by to entertain guests and promote the show. Paula Watson from Savannah’s Bed & Breakfast Inn told visitors about the inn’s amenities as they perused rack cards and shopped in the gift shop, capturing the opportunity to put her business’ name in their minds as soon as they arrived in town.

The main Visitor Center at MLK provides several areas where hospitality members can set up a showcase or demonstration for their business, as the above businesses have done. These are great spots for restaurant food tastings, book signings, product demonstrations and more, and provide an ideal opportunity for hotels and B&Bs to book rooms for visitors who do not yet have secure reservations. Members can select a preferred date and time on the schedule and have the opportunity to lock in weekly or monthly visits.

This is a FREE promotional opportunity, available only to Savannah Chamber member businesses, to promote your business and be one of the first to greet some of the more than 100,000 visitors annually to Savannah every year.

Other promotional opportunities are available for all members, like the glass display cases on the landing which savvy businesses have discovered can pay big dividends. The display cases are available to lease for either six or twelve months. Additionally, the displays can work for any type business: tours; retail, accommodations, unique activities, or historical attractions. Whatever your product, you can make one of the VIC’s unique cases come alive with your own creativity.

You can request your own member promotional opportunity or more information on additional opportunities by contacting Mava Byrd at 912.944.0440 or mbyrd@visitsavannah.com, or John Reed at 912.644.644 or jreed@visitsavannah.com.
