Change of Command at Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Savannah

The crew of Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Savannah conducted a change of command ceremony Friday, June 30, at the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.
During the ceremony Commander Amy Beach transferred command to Commander Norm Witt.

Commander Beach began her assignment at MSU Savannah in 2014 and has played an instrumental role in area through major events including the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project and Hurricane Matthew.

She will transfer to the 9th Coast Guard District in Cleveland, Ohio where she will be promoted to captain and serve as chief of prevention.

The Savannah Area Chamber wishes Commander Beach well in her new assignments and looks forward to welcoming Commander Witt to the Savannah community.
