Mindy Shea, director of tour, travel and international sales for Visit Savannah, joined partners from the state’s tourism office and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau on a recent sales mission through Germany. During the course of a week the group traveled to Hanover, Hamburg and Munich. In total, they conducted product awareness training sessions for nearly 75 agents and client events for approximately 50 tour operators and media. They also scheduled several one-on-one meetings with top tour operators in each city to discuss the promotion of Georgia and Savannah. The week culminated in a special client event at Munich’s famed Oktoberfest, where the group was joined by Georgia’s Commissioner for the Department of Economic Development, Pat Wilson.
