Honor Flight Savannah is preparing for its first trip of 2015 to help recognize area veterans.
The Honor Flight Network provides the opportunity for America’s WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans to visit the memorials built and dedicated to honor their sacrifices in past wars. For many veterans, this is not only the first time they will see their monument but one of few chances to visit with others who fought alongside them.
This service is provided at no cost to the veteran and is funded entirely by private and corporate donations including but not limited to tour bus service, transportation to Washington, D.C., and meals. The group will depart for D.C. from Hunter Army Airfield on May 1 and return May 3.
If your organization is one that would be interested in participating in the Honor Flight Savannah program, please contact Carol Megathlin at cmega@bellsouth.net or click here.
(Honor Flight Network is a 501(c)3 organization and contributions are tax-deductible.)
