Chamber Staff Advocates Support for Third Infantry Division
Savannah Chamber Community Relations Manager Drew Hunt, along with leadership from Ft. Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, Bryan County and Liberty County, traveled to Atlanta on March 9 to meet with members of the Georgia General Assembly. The purpose was to remind legislators of Ft. Stewart/HAAF’s importance at the state level and show support of the Third Infantry Division (3rd ID).
Maj. Gen. Mike Murray, 3rd ID commander, addressed the House of Representatives and other guests via Skype from Afghanistan. Following Maj. Gen. Murray’s remarks, lawmakers read a resolution on the House floor proclaiming March 9 as Third Infantry Division Day.
