The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will hold informational meetings about its 2015 Disparity Study in Atlanta, Macon and Jesup on April 29, 30 and May 1 respectively. GDOT, in partnership with Griffin & Strong, P.C. (GSPC) law firm, will perform this comprehensive disparity study, to review, analyze, and suggest improvements to its procurement practices with regard to minority and women owned businesses. The firm will be conducting information meetings, public hearings, anecdotal interviews, surveys and focus groups throughout the project to assist in determining, through the testimonies of business owners and community members, whether GDOT is providing equal access to their procurement opportunities by minority and women-owned businesses.
Prior to beginning this analysis, GSPC is conducting a series of informational meetings to provide insight to its process and allow the business community, as well as the public at large to get involved. At the informational meetings, GSPC will answer questions regarding the study process and methodology and members of GDOT staff will be present for any questions related to its policies.
