Summer Internship Program To Begin June 15

The Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Leadership Council (TLC), Police Foundation and many other community organizations have partnered to help identify jobs for the City of Savannah’s Pre-apprentice 2015 Summer Work Program.
On June 15, the summer work program will officially be underway, employing dozens of students in the area through the end of July. This is largely thanks to support from members of the local business community who came together to fill the request of providing 35-40 jobs for the city of Savannah’s summer work program.

The initiative comes as the second phase of the city’s 2013 Pre-apprentice Program, created in partnership with the Savannah Impact Program and geared toward teens who would most benefit from education and work skills training. These students, who have already been exposed to literacy development, soft skills training, relationship building and volunteerism, will now have the ability to put their knowledge to use through coordinated job opportunities. The Savannah Chamber believes the business community’s involvement in such initiatives will contribute to the growth and development of our future workforce. Thank you to all who have supported this program.
