New Showers and Restrooms Open on Tybee’s North Beach
New restrooms on Tybee’s North Beach officially opened on Friday, July 15 directly behind the North Beach parking lot. Tybee officials, locals and beachgoers joined together to cut the ceremonial ribbon for the highly anticipated North Beach restrooms. Construction began on the new North Beach entrance in 2015 and includes a new deck, showers, changing rooms, restrooms and concession stand. Tybee Mayor Jason Buelterman says that the city hopes to eventually replicate this facility in other areas of the island.
