Elimination of Parking on Bay Street to be Tested September 11-October 9

Starting September 11 and running through October 9, the City of Savannah will eliminate parking spaces on Bay Street, from Bull Street eastward to East Broad Street, as a test to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety.
The City will also be testing ban on trucks from September 25 through October 9 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. A free shuttle service will be provided by the City to accommodate Bay Street businesses. The shuttle will run every 10 minutes and be available at and around the Liberty Street Parking Garage. The shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Additional parking will be made available at a city lot on Broughton and East Broad. All garage parking will be free after 5 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday.  Police officers and representatives of the Ambassador Program will be on hand to help answer any questions, and the City will be providing detailed information at  http://www.savannahga.gov/bay.
