SAVANNAH SQUARE POPS
You are invited to join Savannah Square Pops owners Tara, Royce & Judd as they cut the ribbon on Savannah’s FIRST gourmet Popsicle store! The business is locally-owned and operated and located at 347 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
Event highlights will include door prizes and complimentary samplings of gourmet popsicles made with fresh herbs and the finest organic ingredients. The grand opening will be Wednesday, November 9 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6 p.m. The store will be collecting food for the local nonprofit charity America’s Second Harvest Food Bank as well as donating a percentage of the profits from the store during the month of November to the Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF). ROOTS SOUTHERN SALON
Roots Southern Salon located at 310 East Bay Street will be hosting a grand opening event Friday, November 11 from 5-8:30 p.m. and will include hors d’oeuvres, drinks, live music and a silent auction to benefit the Greenbriar Children’s Home. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. Roots Southern Salon is a Redken salon and Savannah’s only hair salon offering a unique salon experience overlooking the Savannah River. GOODWILL OF THE COASTAL EMPIRE
Goodwill of the Coastal Empire will open its new Savannah flagship store on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 9 am. As the community’s partner in workforce development, Goodwill trains people to work – because jobs change lives.
Through the community’s support of Goodwill’s stores, donation centers and business services Goodwill is able to help individuals in overcoming barriers and disabilities with a hand up, not a hand out. As a result, they delivered more than 7,020 hours of youth mentorship with our Good Guides program, placed 1,401 individuals into employment and served more than 5,100 people in our Job Connection Centers in 2015.

THE DETAIL DEPARTMENT
The Detail Department, a consulting firm specializing in event planning and public relations, recently marked its 10th anniversary with a cocktail reception. About 150 clients, vendors and associates attended the private event.
Owner Tammy Moseley Ray has spent more than 20 years planning events in various capacities. Her background includes serving as the director of the Tourism Leadership Council, the sales and marketing manager for a franchisee of 24 Hardee’s restaurants, the director of a career program for the Coastal Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America and a writer for the Savannah Morning News.
The Detail Department has planned art shows, awards dinners, book launch parties, conferences, customer appreciation events, galas, golf and tennis tournaments, groundbreaking ceremonies, luncheons, ribbon cuttings, swearing-in ceremonies and more.
Guests of the anniversary event were given supplies in a gift box and asked to participate in a note writing campaign to small business owners as a way of paying forward the encouragement Ray has received since starting her business.
