Visit Savannah hosted a group of six international journalists from Germany, Switzerland and Austria last week. The journalists were treated to Savannah’s signature hospitality with a family-style lunch at Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room, an extensive walking tour of downtown, sweet treats at Leopold’s Ice Cream, fresh barbecue at Blowin’ Smoke and an evening tour of America’s most haunted city. The FAM, or familiarization tour, was organized by representatives from Explore Georgia, the designated marketing organization for the state of Georgia. The writers all agreed that Savannah is one of the most cultured and sophisticated cities they have visited worldwide.
