Savannah Area Chamber Community Affairs Director Appointed to State Board

On June 6, Governor Brian Kemp conducted swearing-in ceremonies for appointments to boards and councils that included the Savannah Area Chamber’s Director of Community Affairs Drew Hunt. Hunt will serve on the Board of Early Care and Learning.

The Board of Early Care and Learning supports and guides the mission and vision of Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL), which works to enhance children’s early educational experiences to promote their academic, social, emotional, and physical development in partnership with families, communities, the early care and education industry, and stakeholders.

This appointment is timely as the Savannah Area Chamber and other community partners continue actively seeking opportunities to expand quality childcare for all children in Chatham County. The Savannah Area Chamber believes quality education from the earliest stage ultimately sets the foundation for a thriving economy and strong quality of life.
