At the end of June, Visit Savannah’s director of digital marketing Lauren Cleland and communications manager Summer Bozeman attended the second annual TravelCon event, held in Boston. TravelCon seeks to teach the skills necessary for independent travel writers and influencers to develop a profitable and sustainable career in the industry. TravelCon’s goal is to create an environment that facilitates networking between experts inside and outside of the travel industry. The Visit Savannah team attends conferences like TravelCon to identify and network with leaders in the travel writing industry, and sat for more than 50 appointments to discuss story ideas and possible partnerships.
