We are HISTORIC
First Baptist Church is one of the oldest Baptist congregations in the state of Georgia, and the oldest standing house of worship in the city of Savannah. We are proud of this heritage and use it as inspiration for our work in the present and in our hopes for the future.
We are LITURGICAL
First Baptist Church is unique among the churches in our area. We embrace a moderate/progressive theology, yet a traditional/formal approach to our worship. Liturgy is "the work of the people," and we see our worship as preparation for the work of God.
