About
FRIENDS OF DISABLED ADULTS AND CHILDREN (FODAC) SAVANNAH is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides annually over $12 million in retail value of refurbished home medical equipment (HME) and services at little or no cost to those in need. Since 1986, our history of faith-based values has inspired us to enhance the quality of life for people of all ages with illnesses, physical disabilities, or injuries. FODAC is recognized nationally as a leading “Re-Use Best Practices” organization and is nationally certified as an accredited home medical equipment provider by the Healthcare Quality Association of America. All parts and equipment issued are donated and refurbished by our trained technicians and volunteers. FODAC annually provides at least 4,000 people with over 10,000 refurbished medical equipment items. FODAC is based in Tucker, Georgia and recently added a satellite location in Savannah, Georgia. In addition, FODAC works with local, state, and federal agencies to provide HME items as part of Disaster Response.
FODAC also manages the Georgia Alternative Financing Program, CreditAble, which facilitates access to low-interest loans and resources to help individuals with disabilities obtain assistive technology.
FODAC Savannah seeks donations of lightly used home medical equipment that allows us to provide equipment locally in our shared warehouse space with Goodwill. All Goodwill Southeast Georgia stores send medical items to this location for FODAC to refurbish, sanitize, and redistribute items to individuals for a lifetime fee of $25.
Our programs save 450 tons of waste annually.
