With roots dating back to Savannah’s first electric streetcars in the late-19th century, Chatham Area Transit has a long history of helping residents and visitors get to their destinations. Today, CAT embraces that tradition by meeting the area’s public transportation needs with a modern fleet of accessible vehicles designed to serve all people.
CAT’s fleet of fixed-route buses, paratransit vehicles, and water ferries provide about four million passenger trips a year throughout Savannah, unincorporated Chatham County and portions of Garden City.
Catch a CAT bus at one of about 1,300 stops or at the Joe Murray Rivers, Jr. Intermodal Transit Center in the heart of downtown, where you can purchase tickets and passes for multiple trips.
