165th Airlift Wing Celebrates 75 Years in Savannah

The 165th Airlift Wing, a unit of the Georgia Air National Guard, celebrated its 75th-year last week. First arriving in Savannah in 1946, current and former members of the Georgia Air National Guard at the 165th Airlift Wing gathered to celebrate this incredible milestone and the Guardsmen who made it possible. Stationed at Savannah Air National Guard Base, this unit serves domestically and overseas, supports the community, and recently stepped up to defend the community amid the global pandemic. Our area military installations support more than 25,000 jobs and contribute upwards of $4.9B in economic impact for our region. For more information on the 165th Airlift Wing, click here.
