2019 Publix Savannah Women’s Half & 5K Races a New Course

Last weekend the Savannah Sports Council celebrated its fifth year of the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K. More than 2,800 runners and walkers participated, seeing a 13% increase in registrations from last year’s race.

This year, the kick-off event Fashion Fitness Expo was held at the new Kehoe Iron Works building at Trustees’ Garden, proving to be a huge hit, filled with great sponsors and vendors. The event also unveiled a redesigned race route which received much positive feedback. The event’s Post Race Party with official drink sponsors 26.2 Brew and Barefoot Wine with music provided by local artist Laiken Love proved to be as popular as always.

Sunday morning, more than 75 race participants packed Ellis Square for Yoga On The Square, hosted by Dancing Dog Studio. The Sports Council is thankful for another year of success and is looking forward to next year’s race on April 4, 2020.
