Business Community Mourns Representative Bob Bryant

The Savannah community experienced a significant loss last week in the passing of Representative Bob Bryant. Bryant served 12 years as a state legislator after serving 20 years in the Army and eight years as a Garden City council member. During his time as a state representative, Bryant worked on the House Appropriations Committee, which is key in writing Georgia’s budget. Representative Bryant regularly worked with both members of both political parties to get budget items passed, as well as on legislation, such as that which split Garden City into districts and gave voters improved representation from their city council members.
Savannah Area Chamber staff fondly remembers working with Bryant throughout the years, through his attendance at our annual Eggs & Issues event, and through Leadership Savannah, which he graduated from in 1988. We will always remember the pleasant demeanor Bryant presented daily and how he was a friend to everyone, regardless of politics. The Chamber sends its condolences to Bryant’s family. Rep. Bryant will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him personally and professionally.
